Skin care regimen
I am so glad Ace finally overcome his phobia of skin care or derma clinics but I am not so sure if I can drag him to the skin care section of the department store or just go around that area in Watson’s where skin care products are displayed. He is so paranoid about what other people would think about his acne-scarred face. If only that skin problem was addressed immediately when it was just starting to appear on his face during his puberty, he may not be having that low self-esteem now.
After that facial treatment last Tuesday, I finally convinced him we need to go back to our skin care regimen years ago before we will realize one day that we need age spot creams because we have taken for granted the special needs of our facial skin which is said to be the most sensitive part of that body organ. I hope we will take extra effort and find time to take care of our skin for before we know it, our skin would look older than it should be when not taken cared of.
Our first facial
I’ve been bugging Ace for us to have a facial treatment. He agreed long ago but I cannot drag him to get inside a clinic. I must say it only needs a little more self-esteem boosting that he finally got the courage to get inside MediSkin in SM City last Tuesday. Unluckily, the place is full and they could only accommodate one. I know Ace won’t have a facial without me and I don’t wanna postpone this facial date because knowing Ace, once he goes out of the clinic he might change his mind anytime. I knew it! Once we got outside, he said he don’t want to have a facial treatment anymore. Not that time, not tomorrow. Just a little more convincing and I was already leading him to OroDerm. Halfway to OroDerm, he changed his mind and lead me back. More convincing and he finally said yes so we were at OroDerm in no time. After 30 minutes, we were inside the clinic. Then the session started. I know whitehead and blackhead extraction is painful based on my former colleague’s stories so I told myself it’s just normal when I was feeling a little bit pain.
After an hour, we’re done and here’s the final step of the facial – laser treatment to close the pores (according to the attendant)
After the treatment, we bought a bottle of astringent to help minimize our pores. The clinic sells a lot of skin care products including beauty soap, facial wash and wrinkle fillers to name a few.
After 2 days, we noticed there are dark spots in our nose due to small cuts. Oh my! What have they done to our skin? I told Ace earlier I won’t be going back to OroDerm anymore. We’ll try other clinics for it might be better than OroDerm.
Camomile Tea Health Benefits
For weeks I can’t sleep unless the clock strikes 4AM. Insomnia? Exactly! Though I only work until 2AM, I can’t sleep immediately after I hit the bed. That goes on for days until I find this alarming. I want to sleep as soon as I’m off from work so I’ll have more energy in the morning! Then I found myself googling for a home remedy for insomnia. I’ve read so many tips and home remedies but two things caught my attention. Camomile tea and lavender oil. I know it’s hard to find lavender oil in this side of the planet so I’m left with no choice but to try Camomile Tea thus it was included in my grocery list the following day. Glad I found one in SM Supermarket. A pack of 25 costs around PhP225, not bad huh. So in the evening, I steeped one teabag and as soon as I hit the bed, I doze off in no time! When I woke up, I feel well-rested, so refreshed and relaxed! That was amazing! I have never felt well-rested for so long even if I had 8 hours of sleep. This time, with just around 6 hours, I felt like I have slept for 8 to 10 hours!
Aside from a home remedy for Insomnia, here are possible benefits of chamomile:
- May help regulate menstrual periods.
- May be good for the kidneys.
- May be good for spleen health.
- May help alleviate symptoms of the common cold.
- May promote relaxation and relieve stress.
- May help induce sleep.
- May calm nervous stomach and improve digestion.
- May soothe skin irritations, including sunburn, heat rash and hemorrhoids.
- May relieve toothache.
- May improve bronchitis.
- May help with bladder troubles.
- May help to expel worms and other parasites.
- May improve liver function and relieve jaundice.
- May be used as a poultice for swelling and pain.
- May help prevent gangrene.
- May relieve back pain.
- May improve rheumatism.
For me, it works for my insomnia and back pain. Try it too!
